The Effect of Hypotonic and Hypertonic Solutions on Fibroblasts of the Embryonic Chick Heart in Vitro
نویسنده
چکیده
In the l i tera ture on tissue cul ture are repor ted , more or less completely, experiments test ing the effect of hypoton ic and hyper ton ic solutions upon growth of cells and upon individual cell s tructures. I t was wi th a view, therefore, of s tudying more fully the effect of solutions of different concentrat ions tha t the present work was undertaken. T h e experiments were performed in April, May , June, and July , when the weather was a t summer hea t and there was consequen t ly l i t t le danger of chilling the delicate new growths, which are susceptible to any sudden change of tempera ture . This po in t is impor tan t , because several invest igators have s ta ted definitely t ha t growth is much be t t e r in the spring and summer than in the fall and winter.

Effect of Adenosine Agonists on the Proliferation and Differentiation of Chick Embryo Fibroblasts in Three Dimensional Reconstituted Tissue Constructs
Previous studies indicate that organ fibroblasts play an important role in wound healing, collagen production, remodeling processes and pathogenesis of progressive heart, lung, renal and hepatic fibrotic diseases. Several studies suggest a possible inhibitory role for adenosine in the regulation of fibroblast proliferation. The effect of adenosine A2 agonists on proliferation and differentiatio...
متن کاملThe Effect of chick Embryonic Somites on Neural Rosette Formation in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells
purpose: The aim of the present study is to understand if EBs can generate neural rosette upon co-culture with chick embryo somites. Materials and Methods: The mouse ES cells, line Royan Bl, were cultured in hanging drops to induce embryoid bodies (EBs) formation. Somites were isolated from the chick embryos and then embedded in alginate solution. Finally, alginate beads containing somites were...
متن کاملEffects of Osmotic Pressure on Normal and Malignant Fibroblasts
In view of the importance of osmotic pressure as a factor in the internal environment of the organism, the investigation here described was made for the purpose of noting the reactions of surviving and growing cells in vitro to changes in osmotic conditions. Little previous work has touched on this problem. Hogue in 1919 (1) grew tissue cultures of chick embryo tissues and established the limit...
متن کاملA Chick Embryo in-Vitro Model of Knee Morphogenesis
Background: In this feasibility study, a mechanically loaded in-vitro tissue culture model of joint morphogenesis using the isolated lower extremity of the 8 day old chick embryo was developed to assess the effects of mechanical loading on joint morphogenesis. Methods: The developed in-vitro system allows controlled flexion and extension of the chick embryonic knee with a range of motion of ...
متن کاملInvestigation on the teratogenic and embryotoxic effects of nanozeolite on chick embryos model
Objective(s): In veterinary medicine, zeolites are used as toxin binder in animal feed, ammonia purification of aquatic pools, animal smell and moisture control. This study investigated on the risk assessment of nano zeolite on development of embryonic chicken models, anomalies, tetratogenic and embryotoxic effects. Methods: Eggs (120 = n) were accidentally di...
